| RavenPack continuously searches for individuals that add to the creativity and innovation of our team. Currently there are several positions available for highly motivated scientists from various disciplines to work in a rich research and development environment. All positions are based at RavenPack's Marbella-Malaga offices in Spain. Accepted candidates will work with research scientists with backgrounds in sociology, psychology, linguistics, economics, statistics, computer science, mathematics, quantum physics and philosophy. The following positions are available: • Common Lisp Developer • Java Programmer If you are interested in any of these positions please send your C.V. and cover letter to: employment@ravenpack.com Position immediately available for an experienced, motivated software professional. You will work with an international team of developers and scientists with backgrounds and interests in computing, psychology, linguistics, finance, mathematics, anthropology, and philosophy. The ideal candidate will have excellent skills as a computer scientist and software engineer, with experience delivering quality software. You must be fluent in standard software development practices on current operating systems. If you are not already an expert in Common Lisp, you will become one. Innovative problem solving and engaging human interaction are key. Design and implement maintainable software in Common Lisp based on loose and changing specifications, with a high degree of independence. Interface to and build solutions in other languages such as Java, C, Unix scripts, or Visual Basic. Use the best tool for the job. Familiarity with SQL and specifically Oracle 9i RDMBS including query optimization and PL/SQL is very much a plus. Comfort in a growing, fast-paced environment with a premium on problem solving. Must have the flexibility to do whatever needs to be done to solve the problems correctly.Work successfully in a small team environment, with a willingness to teach and to learn. Lead reviews of your code and participate in the reviews of others. The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is a must. Knowledge of Spanish is not a business requirement. Current European Union legal working status is preferred. No. of posts available: 1 Programmer with experience using Java to assist with implementing client side of server-based interactive web-based information systems. Desirable candidates will have experience in using Java with XML, designing or implementing graphing software for time-series functions, program optimization, and human interface design. A strong background in computer science, compiler design, symbol manipulation, and basic skills in mathematics, including using Fourier and wavelet transforms, is desirable. Skills in Unix/Linux/OSX a definite plus. Knowledge of Spanish or other languages very desirable. You will work with a team of computer scientists on projects in artificial intelligence, language design, applications implementation, econometrics and finance. The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally is a must. Knowledge of Spanish is not a business requirement.
